Breech Baby Support & Spinning Babies® Movement
Individualized, in-home movement and positioning support for families navigating a breech presentation.
Ready to explore movement and support for your breech baby?
Let's spend some time understanding what's happening in your body, creating space for movement, and giving you practical tools you can continue using at home.
Breech Support Sessions are available from Brunswick to Portland and throughout surrounding Midcoast and Southern Maine communities, generally within approximately 50 miles of Brunswick. Travel fees may apply for in-home services beyond 40 miles.
Your baby is breech. Now what?
Learning that your baby is in a breech presentation can bring up a lot of questions: Is there anything I can do? Why might my baby be in this position? What are my options if they stay breech?
This 90-minute, in-home session gives us time to slow down, explore those questions, and work together using movement, positioning, and Spinning Babies® principles.
Rather than trying to force your baby into a particular position, we'll focus on supporting balance and creating space in your body. I'll guide you through individualized movements and hands-on techniques and help you identify practices you can comfortably continue at home.
There are no guarantees that movement or positioning will change your baby's presentation. My role is to offer education, practical tools, and support while you continue working with your healthcare provider to understand your baby's position and make informed decisions about your care.
Partners or other support people are encouraged to join so they can learn how to support you and practice the techniques with you at home.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No one can guarantee that movement, positioning, or a particular technique will cause a breech baby to change position. Our session focuses on supporting balance and creating space in your body while exploring movements and positions that may encourage your baby to find their own best position.
-
Spinning Babies® is an approach to pregnancy and birth that focuses on the relationship between the pregnant body and baby's position. Rather than focusing on force, we use principles of balance, gravity, movement, and anatomy to create space and support the body's physiology.
As a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator, I can help you understand and practice these principles in a way that is individualized to your body and pregnancy.
-
You are welcome to reach out whenever you learn that your baby is breech and would like additional movement and positioning support. Because what is appropriate can depend on where you are in pregnancy and your individual circumstances, we'll tailor our session accordingly.
If you're unsure whether a session makes sense for you, please reach out.

Yes. Breech presentation is something to discuss with your midwife or obstetric provider, and this service is intended to complement—not replace—your medical care.
I encourage you to keep your provider informed about your baby's presentation and discuss any questions you have about your individual pregnancy, movement restrictions, External Cephalic Version (ECV), birth options, or other medical considerations with them.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. We'll spend much of our session exploring different positions and movements, so think comfortable rather than fancy!
If you have a yoga mat, birth ball, yoga blocks, bolster, pillows, or other movement props that you regularly use, have them nearby. Don't worry if you don't have everything—we'll work with what you have.
-
Absolutely! In fact, a support person is necessary for these partner-driven movements. Having a partner or other support person participate means they'll learn the movements and hands-on techniques alongside you and can help you continue practicing after our session.
Children are welcome, too.
-
Breech Support Sessions are offered in your home so we have plenty of space and privacy to move, practice, and work with the props and environment you'll actually have available afterward.
I serve families within approximately 50 miles of Brunswick, Maine. Travel fees may apply for in-home services beyond 40 miles.

That's okay.
The goal of our time together isn't to define success by whether your baby changes position. You'll leave with a better understanding of movement and positioning, tools you can continue using at home, and resources to help you explore your next steps.
If your baby remains breech, I can also help you identify questions to bring to your healthcare provider and resources for learning more about the options available to you.
